Falling Water Overview

A methodical and thoughtful approach was taken in designing the Falling Water development.  Not only did the developers of Falling Water want a well constructed development, they were particularly interested in a design that would allow the homes to gracefully coexist with the surrounding geography and natural beauty.  Special attention was given to large home sites and green space preservation.  The roadways use natural stone instead of the classic guard rail system.  The two primary stream crossings allow the continued natural flow of the water and maintain a thorough-fair for the wildlife to traverse to and from the lake.  The covenants and restrictions in the Declaration of Common Interest Community provides for the protection of this important feature of Falling Water through the preservation of trees and common elements.

Falling Water also provides unique access to a variety of outdoor activities.  A four mile long, 12 foot wide walking, jogging and running trail follows the shore line along the boundary between Falling Water and Cheat Lake that is available to all the residence of Falling Water.  The trail is complete with restrooms and a play ground.  Boat docking arrangements can be made along the trail by coordinating with Allegheny Power.  Falling Water is located within a couple of miles of two very high quality golf courses, namely, the Lakeview Resort and Mountainview courses.  Summer is not the only time for outdoor recreation.  Cheat Lake is of course only a short drive from the WISP ski resort.

Morgantown is of course home to West Virginia University (WVU).  It goes without saying that living so close to a major university provides for easy access to higher education but it also provides for access to a variety of cultural and entertainment options not found elsewhere.  If you’re a sports fan WVU’s athletic programs are world-class.  Whether it’s the national champion caliber football program or world-class gymnastics that interest you it will all be just next door.  There are also concerts, plays, musicals, and art exhibits held throughout the year.

Cheat Lake elementary and middle schools are only a few miles away from Falling Water.  The brand new University High School is only one exit away on Interstate 68.

Falling Water’s location at Cheat Lake provides easy access to both Interstate 68 and the new route 43 expressway into south western Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania residence who might find the low property taxes in Cheat Lake attractive should definitely visit Falling Water.
